Ethereal Decibel Company (commonly known as “EDC”) is a non-profit musical organization based in Rennes, France, dedicated to promoting Psytrance culture and its values, organizing indoor events, festivals and showcasing, supporting and producing both local and international artists.

OVER A DECADE OF EXPERIENCE AND

100% self-financed

Founded in 2012, EDC has since then organized over forty events, including private indoor and outdoor parties, club events and outdoor festivals. Additionally, EDC has also collaborated extensively with other cultural events at both local and national levels, such as Eclosion Festival, Hadra, Rock'n'Solex just to name a few.

A substantial part of EDC's success is due to its unwavering commitment to organizing and producing contemporary musical events. The association has consistently demonstrated that its artistic direction, logistical organization and dedication to its audience (by providing standards comparable to those of major national events) are at the heart of its mission. Its goal is clear and precise: raise the bar with each and every new opportunity, despite any challenges and a complete 100% self-financing.

Driven by the youthful energy of its members, and led by a team of professionals, EDC now boasts 40 active members and 200 volunteers for its larger events.

AN OPEN-AIR FESTIVAL AND

An expanding audience

After a very promising first festival edition in 2016, the EDC team actively sought out a permanent location in order to expand and develop this flagship annual event. Due to a lack of suitable venues in the Rennes area, the association relocated its headquarters to Nantes in 2018.
Benefiting from the city's rich cultural offerings and different venues which were more inclined to hosting their events, EDC saw the creation of a strong and dynamic local presence along with a growing audience.

Ethereal Decibel Company quickly embarked on a series of residencies and collaborations with various clubs throughout the city, along with several other associations (such as Hadra, Sub.Conscience, AzTechno, Disorder, Festi-Land...). With this newfound dynamic, EDC surrounded itself with a diverse array of artists (decorators, scenographers, musicians, videographers, graphic designers, photographers, performers, makeup artists...) and technicians (sound-, light-, video-engineers, stage managers...) and started professionalizing and employing them for its own events' production.

The decisive turning point occurred in 2019, when, in addition to its two major annual indoor events, EDC finally secured a suitable and sustainable location for the big outdoor festival. Larger, well situated, and surrounded by nature, it hosted two highly praised festival editions in 2019 and 2022 (with two editions postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic).

Since then, the association has expanded its collaborations and events throughout France and even Europe. With intense winter seasons and years of experience and reflection on the development of a now well-known venue, the next edition of Ethereal Decibel Festival is always anticipated as a finely crafted experience!
